Am I in risk to get Mad Cow disease?

I consumed some British candies (Licorice allsorts) back in the '95. when I got a whole package of them in my country (I don't live in the UK). Today I found out that they are making them with beef gelatine.


Can gelatin infect people with Mad Cow disease? 17 years have passed since that time when I consumed them, but some people told me it has a long incubation period, and that I may get the symptoms still. They told me that I am in risk to get the disease.

Am I at risk? Should I be scared? I am literally panicking.........
