clotting with cramps and back pain - menopause symptoms ?

I am 52, I quit having a period in July. Previously I lost my Dad Brother and Sister within 14 months. Today March 3 I am having a period but its mostly solid clotting. I am having really bad cramps and lower back pain. That has always been a problem though. I do have sweats occasionally but no symptoms that are worth mentioning. I do have depression and anxiety and I am on 5mg Lexapro per day and 5 mg xanax as needed. I don't take the xanax very often. My question is am I starting Menopause? or have I been going through it for awhile?
