User Profile
I was curious to know if any other implanon users felt the same way as I have a couple times. Now that it has happened twice, I have a hunch as to what it is.
I got the implanon put in Sept of '10, and for the first few weeks had spotting but that stopped all together and I hadn't bled until April, when I bled for about two weeks with slight to severe(it would alter through the course of the day) abdomen pain and some nausea. I was having unprotected sex, but I didn't think much of it.
This time, it's happening again and I'm beginning to wonder if maybe these are miscarriages? I've had a miscarriage before I got implanon so you'd think I'd automatically know but this doesn't feel the same so I'm just not sure what to think...?

hi, I doubt that; this is why
in the first year the dosage is higher and it works by;
inhibiting ovulation in almost all cycles as the primary mechanism of action. Ovulation was not observed in studies of Implanon in the first two years of use and only rarely in the third year with no pregnancies

here is the numbers; Peak serum etonogestrel concentrations have been found to reach 781–894 pg/mL in the first few weeks, gradually decreasing to 192–261 pg/mL after 1 year, 154–194 pg/mL after 2 years, and 156–177 pg/mL after 3 years, maintaining ovulation suppression and contraceptive efficacy

NOW THERE HAVE BEEN problems reported that r attributed to improper implantation under the skin and I don't know if u had med test to ck your serum level

good luck
