Q: Allopurino treatment ?

Allopurino

Question about gout: Hello, I am currently on the Allopurino treatment to bring down my uric acids and hopefully rid myself of these horrible gout attacks. I have been on the treatment for a month and a half and suffered 2 major attacks in the short period I have been on it.

My questions;

Is it normal to suffer these attacks while on the treatment and it is ok to take Colchicine to help bring down the pain and inflmation?

How long will it take while on the Allopurino treatment to bring down these uric acids and after say 6 months of treatment can I start eating regular food again (by regular I mean gout inducing foods like red meat, poultry, alchol).

Thank you very much and I look forward to your response.

Comments: I am 29 years old, and have a history of gout in my family. I am also over weight but am working on that. I was wondering if excercise induces gout attacks? because it seems like everytime I go running or attempt anything physical it results in an attack.

Gout is a crystal deposition disease which is characterized with elevated levels of uric acid (hyperuricemia) in the bloodstream. In this condition, crystals of monosodium urate(MSU) or uric acid are deposited on the articular cartilage of joints, tendons and surrounding tissues.
The symptoms of gout include excruciating, sudden, unexpected, burning pain, as well as swelling, redness, warmth, and stiffness in the affected joint.
No data can be found about bad interference of allopurinol with colhicine. Once the symptoms disappear, you will have to live certain life style in order to prevent further attacks. Gout is a disease in which metabolic enzyme disorder is present and can not be treated for good. Prevention of gout comprises of having rarer attacks. Since the high levels of uric acid in the blood are caused by protein rich foods, you should avoid them. Alcohol intake often causes acute attacks of gout. Mild increase in physical activity is not reported to cause attacks of gout.

Forget these Doctors answers, they just copied and pasted from some articles.

take it from me, i bought into all that medicinal crap and allopurinol is known to cause CHRONIC GOUT, please stay away from those things, I would personally keep indomethacin with me just in case of emergencies, only emergencies!

Take it from a real gout sufferer for the last 3 years of my young life and I dont have gout attacks.

eat healthy!
fruits and vegetables, drink lots of water, keep yourself hydrated and constantly peeing to clean your system of the uric acids.

stay away from your red meats, seafood, beans, mushrooms.

DIET IS THE ONLY CONTROL TO CURING GOUT!

mix half a teaspoon baking soda and a glass of water twice a day to balance your ph balance.

ph balance is very important to fighting gout.
