Appearance and severity of the allergic reaction doesn’t depend on the provoker (allergen) or its amount. Appearance and severity of the allergic reaction depends on the type of reaction and the type of the reaction generally on the genetic constitution of the patient.

The method of contacting the allergen is also important. Allergens that are injected usually cause more severe allergic reactions than allergens that are touched.

Anaphylaxis is the most dangerous type of allergic reaction. It is manifested with circulatory shock or broncho-obstruction (asthmatic attack). Another very dangerous form of allergic reaction is Quinke’s edema of the larynx. It can cause fatal asphyxiation. Anaphylaxis and laryngeal Quinke’s edema are very rare.

Allergic mechanisms are a major part in all autoimmune disorders and certain specific allergic disorders (asthma, chronic allergic rhinitis…).

Most of the allergic reactions have skin manifestations and are not life threatening. There are a lot of skin allergic manifestations. Usually, the skin reactions are generalized when the allergen is injected or ingested. Others are restricted to the skin area that came in touch with the allergen (contact dermatitis). Most severe generalized skin reaction is urticaria which is manifested with much itching, red bumps (papule).

Fleece can cause a local skin reaction (contact dermatitis) in a person who is genetically determined to be allergic to fleece. Contact dermatitis usually looks like red bumps that itch. Desquamation can also be present. Secondary bacterial infection can cause wetness and even pus forming.
You may want to consult a dermatologist about this.
