Thank you for your question on ehealthforum.com

In all allergic conditions, it is very important to identify the allergen and avoid exposure to the causative agent, which may require restricting environmental and occupational exposure. Home dust allergy can be reduced greatly by air filters like HEPA. Immunotherapy (desensitization) using allergy shots have variable success rates of 80-90%. Managing co-morbid conditions like septal deviation, chronic sinusitis will also help to a great deal. Antihistamines, intranasal antihistamines, nasal decongestants, corticosteroids and cromalyns all have their own role and used according to the need. Associated diseases like atopy and asthma management also plays a vital role. There is no quick fix solution to this problem and may require prolonged management. Thank you.
