Q: allergic reaction to bbq sauce?

Ok might be really strange but the smell of bbq sauce makes me so sick to my stomach that i completely avoid it but last week had a bday party at a rib joint and when i walked into the restaurant my eyes immediately started burning and was so sick to my stomach. Finally got home and had the chills. Any ideas? Is it a spice in the sauce?

How many times you have experienced that?
Is it always the smell of the sauce or its consumption, too, that makes you sick?

I have always been sickened by the smell and only one time before ever been in and had to leave a bbq restaurant- this time I had to stay because of the party and my eyes just started burning immediately-no one else had the issue. Weird I know but I didn't know maybe if it was just a certain spice?
