I had my share of it when I was pregnant a few years back for a period of three months, since I can't take a lot of meds what I did was mixing some honey, hot water and some drop of lime or lemon honey is to soothes the irritation while the lime/lemon is to 'cut' the mucus or phelgm. Hope it works.

Cut back on diary products as they increase the amount of mucus produced. Have you consulted with an allergist? You may want to consider this as they may have some other suggestions for you.
