I have seen my doctor about this..he recommends getting rid of my cat of course but medication has worked before. Is there anything you would advise concerning this situation. The phlegm and throat sensation occurs periodically during the day most times mid afternoon and late evening when I am at work...and away from my cat.

Thanks very much.

Asthma Answer A5743

Profession: Rare books conservator
Diagnosis that has been suggested: Asthma exacerbated by exposure to cats some bronchitis
Current medical status: I have constant phlegm ...a dry phlegm somewhat colorless most of the time. Sometimes slightly yellow but very sticky. A sensation of pulling at the back of my throat..like a slow mo crawling sensation when I swallow.

According to the data you supplied, you might be experiencing allergic asthma. The treatment for allergic asthma includes certain medications, but avoiding the allergens that provoke the conditions might turn out to be extremely useful.

You might want to have allergic tests to allergens that might be found in your surroundings such as: pet epithelial cells-from the cat, house dust mites and mold-at your work place (working with old books), pollen- out of home.

follow up to Symbicort question
I am certain I have allergic asthma . I guess my question is whether the medications I am taking is an appropriate rememdy . I do not having wheezing but now I do have this phlegm and pulling sensation...not present when I am off the medicine..of course off the medicine I would have the full asthma and wheezing. I am wondering if this has been reported with Symbicort...I have also had this experience with Advil.

Your help is appreciated thank you.

You can get a pill from your vet. for your cat.
It stops the enzyme that produces dander or something like that.

Allergens and allergic asthma
Hi there

Often allergies like pollen, pets, dust, chemicals and so on are caused by Candida albicans, or thrush.
Candida weakens the immune system which normally deals with these situations and, if the immne system gets totally exhausted, you can become allergic to the 21st century.

The best shot is to get rid of the candida!
Even the standard allergy test, (which is not cheap, and not very accurate) will tell you what you already know. You have an allergy.

Candida can be overcome by avoiding the following: No bread, no dairy, no potatoes, no fruit, no grains, no sugars or other simple carbohydrates like soda's.
Eat plenty of vegies like turnip, parsnip, swede, sweet potato, carrot, pumpkin and the like. (Root vegetables are excellent health foods)
Beans, red lentils, sunflower seeds, nuts (unsalted) are all good 'stomach fillers'while on this diet.
Do this diet for a couple of weeks and you should be feeling great.
This is also a great way to lose weight, for those with weight problems.

Good luck

Kinetico
