Im using Baking Soda, in conjunction with Potassium Citrate... Basically I mix 1/4 teaspoon BS in 1/2 gallon of water... PH of the water is approx 7.5...

My urine is 7.0 to 7.25 ....

Some of you are taking 1/2 teaspoon BS in a glasss of water...

How alkaline is your urine?

The pH of my urine has climbed into the 7 to 8.4 range since last w/e when I started the Baking Soda treatment - 1/2 tsp in a glass of water 2 or 3 times per day. I've got high blood pressure so I know this is a risk, but I'd rather take it and not suffer the wretched pain of gout.

Mine is around 8.5. I have slightly high BP but like richgout, the risk is worth it.
I am on a half teaspoon three or four times a day. I am on 600 mg Allo a day too.

I wonder if pr0230 is on to something. I am thinking about ways to keep my blood alkaline without constant excesss sodium.. perhaps diluting the baking soda into a larger quantity of water throughout the day will keep the blood alkaline and minimize the blood-pressure effects of BS. I'll have to give it a try.

Adding 1/4 teaspoon per each 64 oz water would mean only 1/2 teaspoon a day, and maybe spreading it out over the day would be better than just 1/2 teaspoon in 4 oz of water in the morning.
