Alcohol kills the neuotransmitters in the brain if on meds? What is exactly does this mean? how important is it?

I heard this was really bad or something. I'm taking meds for social anxiety and have been self medicating with alcohol for years, but i've never had a bad "side effect" from the alcohol. I just treat it like a drug. it has helped a lot and works better than any other med.

Where did you read this information about alcohol killing neurotransmitters? And what types of medications can interact with alcohol?
