High levels of bad cholesterol in the blood can increase your risk of heart disease. So how do you know if you're experiencing high cholesterol, or not? ...
Is drinking a few beers okay if my cholesterol level is high?

Alcohol consumption should be limited in high cholesterol patients. This is because it interferes with liver metabolism and slows the processes of removing cholesterol. A glass of wine might be an idea, since there are some studies showing wine can help lower the risk of developing atherosclerosis, which is the major result of high cholesterol.

So I have to stick to wine? I'm turning 30 and friends are throwing a Vegas weekend for me this weekend. This is a true bummer.

You don't have to stick to wine, its just a better alternative.
In managing your high cholesterol, you may drink but limit it as much as you can, ie only consume the recommended.
