i think i might have a yeast infection because it's itching like krazy. i've been trying to shower it off but it wont happen. there are no bumps or sores, i got vagasil but it's only working its part.

will it go away within time or do i need pills?
or can i keep using vagasil?
is it even yeast infection.

on my period, so can't really get it checked up.

lame.

Are you seeing any discharge? A white, cottage-cheese looking discharge accompanies a yeast infection. If you see that, I'd say you defintely have a yeast infection!

Vagasil is only an anti-itching cream, and won't help the actual infection. Get Monistat 7 Day Treatment. I used to get yeast infections all the time, and I never had a problem with the 7 Day treatment. On the other hand, the 1 and 3 day Treatments were horrible, and my doctor forbid me from ever getting those. The 1 and 3 Day Treatments have such a concentration of medicine in them, they can severely irritate the vagina and worsen your condition. Even when you are on your period, you can take Monistat (I did, anyways).

Grab come Monistat, and use the Vagasil whenever it itches. If the yeast infection persists after that, go see the doc. They'll just give a pill that they pretty much only dispense when all other options have been tried.

Good luck!

Some women get small yeast infections--or just plain itchiness-- during their period, it may go away on it's own. Do you have any discharge?

How long have you had it and have you had one before?

when it started
i had sex on... saturday. i was okay sunday.. i showered monday and it reliefed the itch a great deal and thats when i realized that i was swollen. Tuesday it itched a little but it didn't burn i when i peed, it just itched insanely out of controll... and yesterday (wednesday) that's when it started to sting when i peed.

i don't believe there's any discharge because im on my period.. and i dont think i was having much discharge before either. it definitely wasn't think and chunky.. if anything it was a little dry.

Is it possible for you to wait until after your period?

If you can wait, do that. If it doesn't go away, get Monistat 7 and take care of it that way.

If you can't, go to the doc (or at least call the nurse's hotline to see if they would prescribe you the tablet without actually getting you in those stirrups!).

Good luck!

wow i just logged on, i haven't been on here since.. forever. well, it turns out i did have a yeast infection, monistat destroyed my vagina because it was TOO strong. it made me practically cry in agony... i would not suggest that to everyone.

i got a day pill that worked miraculously, in a day.

and yes, oral sex can spread and worsen yeast infections-- google it. it can spread virtually anywhere and anyway b/c it is a fungus.

Thank you all!!
