Since having a LEEP procedure done, I have experience abdominal pain after sex. Its like extremely bad period pains and can last for hours. I have been with my partner for over 6yrs. I dont have any discharge etc, just the pain after sex. Its now putting me off wanting sex as the pain is so bad afterwards. Any help or advice would be appreciated. Thank you
Welcome to ehealthforum,
Experiencing pain during or after intercourse could suggest chances of vaginal infection, injury, cervicitis, cervix erosion, pelvic adhesions, endometriosis, PID, etc. The exact cause can only be made out after careful evaluation. Consider visiting your doctor/gynecologist at the earliest for further thorough examination and further evaluation to look for the underlying cause for the pain that you describe. Treatment as appropriate (based on examination findings and investigations results) would be started to help you control the symptoms. Avoid vaginal douching, or use of harsh soap or perfumes in the area. Use loose cotton undergarments and avoid use of tight fitting clothes. If infective cause is detected, and if you are sexually active, get your partner also treated simultaneously to prevent chances of re-infection, and avoid having intercourse while being on treatment. Be in regular monitoring and follow-up with your treating doctor/gynecologist and report any new/abnormal symptoms immediately.
