Hello, thank you for reading this.
I just had an abdominal hysterectomy on Feb 11th,2011 which left my cervix and one of my ovaries due to fibroids, ovarian cysts and endometriosis. Last night I started having pains in my vagina that feel like a constant, mild and uncomfortable cramping sensation. What also occurs intermittently is a sharp pain deeper inside the vagina lasting only a few seconds this is moderately more painful on the pain scale. I am urinating all the time, esp at night, and have a foul smelling discharge that has a fishy odor. Mo bleeding though. I have interstitial cystitis, IBS-Diahrrea type, and stress incontinence at 41 years old. Two prior c-sections as well. Do I need to go to ER since this is the weekend? I am going to call my doctor first thing Monday.

Abdominal Pain Answer A20089
Hello and thank you for posting your medical question on E health forum.

From the history provided, it seems that the pain and foul smelling discharge could be a sign of a pelvic infection resulting as a complication of the surgical procedure.

You might need a course of antibiotics for a few days to clear the infection.

You might consider to consult your treating doctor for an examination and proper treatment.

I hope this helps.
