HI, my boyfriend has been having severe nightmares dealing with an event from his past, very vivid and they leave him very upset and distraught. he usually tends to isolate himself for the day and be really quiet or seem very distant when he has them, which seems to be almost daily now. it was getting better, but recently is getting really bad. He loses sleep because of it, and when he was younger would go longs periods of time without sleeping in fear. He's been hgsopitalized before and had to undergo a lot of sleep test and alot of other related thigns, and fears having to do it again, as it brings back horrible memories he wishes to move on and forget about. I dont want him to have to feel like that again, is there any natural nonmedication way for him to deal with this. he wont go to a pyschaiatrist or counselour etc because he hates discussing what happened to him. i just want to know what he or i can do to help him without resorting to proffessional help or medications? ive read about some things like lucid dreaming, and eating better, and forming regular sleeping habits, but is there anything more, cause he's pretty good with that stuff.

well its definitely problem he should eventually deal with, otherwise it will keep coming back..
maybe hypnosis could help him and that way he won't have to be aware when talking about it. what does he think of that?

im also curios, is he aware in his dreams that its just a dream? there are ways to make yourself aware of it and then you can cope with the dream so at least it won't ruin your day after u wake up..

i asked him if he was aware at all, and he said sometimes he was, btu in a way that he cant stop it or change it, he already knew about lucid dreaming and the other stuff, idk about hyptnosis, he's really not exactly rich. some other things is he gets these panic attacks and they just come in bursts and within 5-7 minutes it stops and sometimes he looks like its a seizure and it feels like one, but its not a doctor said. im really positive its all from ptsd. whe u dream about demons, waht can that mean? he's said he dreamt that he woke up and went out of hte room, and came in and a demon was coming out of his ceiling and had me pinned to his ceiling i was screaming i guess, and it was attempting to swallow me or something? he's had many like that, and also the others about his past. also, im having difficulty bringing up the topic with him when it comest totelling him things that can be done to help, bcz he makes it feel like it cant be, i dont know how to explain it to him any of the other suggestions u made.
