starting off my name is Whitney and Im 18 years old. I have always struggled with concentrating, procrastinating, Im always forgetting things..etc. I also talk ALOT I was voted class most talkative if that says anything. So my mother always thought I had ADHD but she never wanted to take me to the doctor because she figured I would grow out of it. Finally my senior year I just couldnt take all the pressure because I was in some very difficult classes so she took me to my family doctor that but me on LEXAPRO. This medication all I ever did was sleep and I gained about 20 lbs. So this year I was tested twice and both said I had ADHD. I went to a place but I felt as though he was more interested in other things than my ADHD he put me on about five different vitamins none of which were for my actual problem. I recently moved to a different place and I am wondering where I should go and what I should say to get the right treatment.

sometimes you have to be stern with doctors and therapist. you tell them that you already had be diagnosed with ADHD and you would like to try xoxox. it would be good for you to research the types of medication for your problem so you can talk to them as if you are educated with the medications, it's side effects, etc.
i can email you a website that talks about the names of medication used for ADHAD
