I also want know same thing, many doctors says it is difficult to have pregnancy if adenomyosis is in sewer stage. Now we have taken opinion of many doctors and come to decesion to remove uterus. If there is any solution to have pregnancy then please let we know at the earliest.

I was diagnosed with adenomyosis october 2008. It's now June 2010 & I'm 7 weeks pregnant. My Dr. gave me the option to try to get pregnant, but I will be having a hysterectomy after the birth of this child. It's the only cure for the pain.

How were you able to get pregnant? I obviously know how a woman becomes pregnant. I am wondering about the pain and bleeding. I have adenomyosis as well and have been on continuous birth control for years. If I'm not on it the pain and bleeding is unbearable and DAILY! I'm 29 and wanting to start a family, but I'm wondering how I can do it? How am I supposed to deal with the pain of not being on birth control- especially if it takes me a long time to get pregnant. And, what if I start bleeding everyday? Pregnancy isn't going to happen like that. How are you ladies dealing with these symptoms?

I was just diagnosed with Adenomyosis a couple weeks ago, I have had this intense pain for about 3 yrs. It felt really good to finally find out what the pain was from. I tried for about a yr to get pregnant and failed. Got on birth control and the pain did get better. But i still want a baby. So my doc gave me a fertility drug to help me get prego faster. I am very excited and he also said the pregnancy could reverse the disease, maybe, maybe not but im willing to try. Good luck and i hope it all works out for you.

Any it has been difficult to get pregnant. Some docs say this is not the reason and some say is. I have tried IUI 7 times without a successful pregnancy and my fertility doc now believes its the Adenomyosis.

That is the same question i have been struggling with. Right now i had to be given a double depo injection to stop the bleeding but how will i get pregnant when if i do stop taking it the pain and bleeding are unbearable.

Pulga 131.... I'm also 29 and have adenomyosis and endometriosis....I can tell you that my husband and I are trying to have a baby and I have been off of all meds for about a year now... However... I find it extremly hard to do daily tasks... I'm always missing work and can never do anything fun at all. I guess it depends how bad you really want to have a baby. I really didn't want kids just yet, but my dr told me I'd better start if I want any at all. Now I've come to terms with having a baby, I was pregnant for a short month and I never felt so good in my life! I just want to feel that way again! NO pain! It was great. Sadly I had a miscarriage.. don't know if it's related to Adenomyosis....my dr. says it was just one of those things that happened... We are trying again... But I can tell you ... It's a hard road to go down...and maybe when I have a baby it will be all worth it... Until then...Just do what you can do...I'm going to give it a few more months and if I don't get pregnant... I'm going to seriously consider a hysterectomy or even injections.... I wish you the best of luck... Hopefully things will get better for both of us!

I'm 24 almost 25 years old and I've been diagnosed with early adenomyosis. I've always wanted children, and was scared to death when I was told about this. My doctor reassured me however that by taking a medicine normally prescribed for diabetics called glucophage, and with a fertility shot on my next cycle, that I should have little to no problem becoming pregnant. The pain is hard to deal with. I'm a very positive person and being in so much pain is difficult. However, I'd much rather deal with the pain and become a mother, than give up & never fulfill my dreams.

Hi,i have been diagnosed with Adenomyosis, however i dont have pain just very prolonged bleeding. I fell pregnant with my son on my first round of clomid. And now now i am pregnant with my second, using fertility shots and iui on the third try. Hope this helps, also i had no problems with my first pregnancy, not even any morning sickness!

hi minimango08 my gp told me i have adenomyosis, but told me not to worry about it as my period is regular but sometimes i have abdominal pain, but iam very worried cause i want to have children....how were you diagnosed,,,medication or surgerey,,,,please reply

Hi, hani01. I was dignosed through highly trained ultrasound staff through IVF clinic. That combined with extremely long and heavy periods. Apparantly it isnt meant to affect fertility however in my case i needed help in getting my follicles big enough to ovulate. This is why i needed clomid and FSH injections the second time. If you have been trying to conceive and havent then maybe you should be tested to see if you are ovulating and an ultrasound to measure the size of your follicles. Hope this helps.

I m 31 yrs old, I Have been trying to get pregnant for three years now bt with no sucess, my pds became irregular suddenly, I hv been diagnosed with adenomyosis and endometreosis. I had laproscopic surgery done to remove adhesions and a adenomyoma......I m just badly in need of a child.......plz tell me if I will be able to or not? My pds have started bcming normal since 4-5 months

I was diagnosed last year, after my daughter was around a year old. I was told a hysterectomy was the only cure. I was so angry and wanted another child. I found out I was pregnant 2 months later. The pregnancy wasn't bad. My son is great! He is 8 weeks old and the adenomyosis is worse than ever! I am scheduling a hyst at the end of next month! I am so ready to feel good again! I am on the nuva ring, and haven't stopped bleeding or spotting since my son was born! The pain is awful, I am ready!!!

I am 29, have adenomyosis and have been trying for almost a year to get pregnant. Was on the pill for 13 years, went off on my honeymoon and still haven't conceived. Periods began worsening every month. I was diagnosed in June, put on pain meds and meds for heavy bleeding. June and July still got worse even with meds. My doctor did a D&C on me in July to remove all of the tissues. Not being gross but I just went for my recheck.....the pictures show a HUGE difference in my uterus. It looks as if I have a brand new one in place of the old tissue covered one! He said that 95% conceive within 3 months of this procedure. It was a 15 minute procedure that I was put under for, recovery is one day, mild cramps. My periods have been SO MUCH BETTER!!!! Hopefully, pregnancy will be an option soo. Doctor says that it should NOT be an issue. He refuses to do a hysterectomy anyhow because of my age. DONT GIVE UP LADIES!!! Best of luck to us all!

Hi all, I am 28 and was diagnosed with adenomyosis in about December last year and polycystic ovaries in June this year. It is all very painful each day but still manage to attend university most days. We have been ttc for over a year now and had implanon in from February last year until the Beginning of September last year. It was removed due to rapid weight gain (30kg in 4 months) and have since found out that it was more than likely the cause of me getting PCOS. I have been on clomid and metformin for 4 months now with no luck yet but am not about to give up then will be scheduling a hysterectomy after. I do already have kids and love and adore what I have I just don't want to have the surgery and have regrets. So fingers crossed something works soon so I can have it all over and done with. i have adenomyosis, trying to get pregnant. i have a son already, he is 6. my mid section is a whole bigger bc of the bloating and swelling of the uterus. hate the pain, bleeding, painful sex and tender breast. hoping and praying to get pregnant soon, then remove the uterus. hate my shape now.

Hi am 33 years and have adenomyosis .Was diagnosed about 2 years ago and have been trying to conceive,Doctors here in Uganda tell me its not possible and i need to have a hysterectomy.I really want to have a baby.What should i do.

I was diagnosed with adenomyosis at age 20. My dr. diagnosed me after an exploratory laproscopic surgery. He told me if I wanted children to try right away as your chances decrease with age. My husband and I conceived naturally three months later. And when my first baby was a year old, I conceived again. I was content and tired of the pain and down days, so I had a mirena IUD put in. The next four years were great. I hardly got a period and I got to enjoy my kids. Then after 4 years, the mirena seemed to be loosing effect. I got it out 2 months ago. I decided to try to have another baby, but I just got my second period and I am in unbearable misery! I think I may just give up, be happy with my two and get a new Mirena. My dr. says using a progestin only birth control is the best way to manage the pain till menopause. I really don't want to think of getting a hysterectomy at age 28.

Hi. I'm not sure if anyone will reply to this, but I'd like some help. I'm 20 years old, and was diagnosed with adenomyosis in November. I've been dealing with the pain for over a year now, and it's becoming very difficult to handle. In December, I had some endometreosis removed and Mirena put in. The headaches and disorientation have gotten even worse. I'm no longer sure if its the adenomyosis or the birth control. I'm to the point where I almost wish I had a hysterectomy when they were removing the endometreosis. Can anyone give me any advise? Please. Are there other things that work? Will this pass eventually? I really am desperate. My boyfriend and I aren't set up to have kids yet, but I know that someday I'd like to. If I can't figure something out soon, I'll probably have to give in to the pain and have a hysterectomy.

I know everyone is different, but the progestin only birth control did not work for me at all! The bleeding was still heavy and a lot of clotting and horrible uterine contractions.

Hi ladies, I am 28 yrs old and was diagnosed with Adenomyosis last week but have been experienceing chronic and severe pain for over 6 years now and am completely drain from the pain. My OB/GYN suggests a hysterectomy but even though I have four beautiful children I still find it difficult to make that decision. My husband and I want another baby jus not now (our youngest just turned 1)but waking up in pain each day affects my family/personal life. It feels good to know that I am not alone, it has taken sooo long for a diagnosis that I beginning to think I was crazy or something.To all of you trying to conceive... My girlfriend was just diagnosed with Adenomyosis yesterday. She is only 18 and has showed symptoms for a few months now. She loves children and hopes one day to become a teacher and even more so a mother. I haven't been able to sleep and it breaks my heart thinking about how one day she may not be able to conceive. Has anyone else been diagnosed at a young age and been able to conceive years after?

Yes I have suffered since a very young age but had a Mirena coil fitted and this helped so much I had hardly any pain or bleeding, the first 2 months were very hard but then it settled down and was worth it, roughly 2 years later I decided to have this removed and try for a baby and I am now pregnant at 29. It took me a long time to be diagnosed but there is hope.

Yes i also was diagnosed at 17 and the choice i took was the bc route .. my doctor said it was safe to skip the placebo... (The last week of pills) and start a new pack of bc... Its been 3 years since i had a period and i love it

I am 27 yr old now, I am 12 weeks pregnan, but my tummy is big like 7mothst, I was diagnosed adenomyosis and endemetriosis 10 yrs ago. Ive been in pain for 10 yrs.. 2010 I desided to remove my uterus because I am so tired of pain, but all of the sudden I got pregnant, but didn't have a heartbeat so I realize, their is a hope, if I got pregnant the firt time I'll get pregnant again, after a yr and half I got pregnant again which is now, Im in a lot of pain but I can handle the pain, I'm still working during the day as care giver..

For those of you wondering what Adenomyosis is, the link below has some pretty good information on it. Basically, you have tissue growing where it shouldn't be. There's also a lot of research on endometriosis, which is similar in nature, and the MayoClinic has some good information on that condition as well.

im 20 and have a 1 year old and have just recently been diagnosed with adenomyosis, fibroid and polyps so hoping i can still have more children. but it can be so painful at times especially round the time of my period and is very heavy.
