Q: Addicted to Oxycontin

My docter and pain managment docter are worryed about my long term health as i have been a user of OXYCONTIN for a few years now now he tryed 2 give me nothing for a while as i need it my body screamming out 4it ,i had a bad comercial crayfishing accident i've had many MRI'S done i have prolaps in neck with buldging disc's, In the lower Back few probs there 2 the main 1is i have bone 2bone ABUTTING the disc and the sac no longer there the pain is cruel at times now the docter is talking about taking me off oxys wants me on the METHADONE program....is this going 2help me in addiction as well as long term PAIN managment?????

methadone is for getting off meds now about pain i dont think so. ive been on duragesic since 2001 and my doc has never said he wants me to get off and for a doc to say get off all right away is wrong your supposed to wein off of drugs not cold turkey. my doc has me do a liver check ev ery couple years to make sure no major damage is done so far none. but im never going to be pain free 4 spinal surgeries will do that but meds are needed for the rest of my life. find a good pain management doc who understands your needs i went through alot of docs to find one who belived me when i spoke and took me serious. good luck to you.
