I really don't think what your explaining is that big of a deal. Everyone has done it 1-3 times in one day at some point and if they deny it, they are lying.
It's natural, and doesn't have any adverse effects. There much worse that you could be addicted to.
The only thing that I can see being a problem is doing it in public, but you said you stopped that already.
Its a stress reliever, do it in privacy, and don't worry about it.
