Adderall is a central nervous system stimulant (amphetamine). Amphetamines have a high potential for abuse. Taking amphetamines for long periods of time may lead to drug addiction. In fact, Adderall and ADHD drugs have been banned from sales in Canada due to sudden/cardiac death and/or stroke in individuals receiving Adderall and the uncommon psychiatric adverse events shown to manifest after use.

When the decision is made to stop medication therapy, a patient who is physiologically dependent should be expected to develop withdrawal symptoms unless care is taken to slowly taper the drug using a standard detoxification or withdrawal protocol. During the detoxification or withdrawal period, symptoms of abuse or psychological dependence may emerge.

Have you considered seeking help from a medical detox treatment center?

I hear you. I'm not sure when the symptoms will be gone --- sometimes it can take up to 28 days for your bloodstream to be cleaned of chemicals for more acute symptoms, sometimes up to 6 months. Are you still sleeping a lot?

Perhaps you can trying drinking more water and exercising for 10 minutes. This can really help!!! And cut out sugar, salt, dairy and breads/rices/pasta from your diet. This makes your system sluggish...but take the steps. It's not simply something that's happening TO you...you can take control, as well.
