I have been taking immediatly release adderall for about 3 months during the day and xanax as needed it has helped me focus and stay calm my problem is I have been married for 15 years and my husband is an alcoholic and just recently sought help 4 weeks ago (very good thing) Very proud of him however he will make comments about me "being a pill popper" or if I can't sleep he blames that or if I am moody or not feeling like intimacy it's the adderall and it's a constant battle it really hurts me that he feels this way I feel like I am always being accused and I want to know if any of you that are on adderall have experienced family calling you a tweaker or saying things that are very hurtful and how do you handle it?????????? I have been in tears several times he says it's because the adderall I take as to why we fight when I believe it's because of the accusations he makes when I take my medications that makes me aggitated and irratated anyone have any advice? Confused

I personally have never had any of my family call my son a tweaker or pill popper. Just simply state that you are on that medicine for a valid reason: your doctor prescribed it for you for a MEDICAL condition. You being in tears during the fights may partly be due to the Adderol, it can cause extra sensitivity, my son is a bit more emotional on Adderol, but it is certainly not helping that your husband is not supportive and often brash. If it was my husband, I'd tell him that Adderol is prescribed to me by my doctor for a medical condition and that he needs to lay off of me. On a side note, I'm proud that your husband sought help for his alcoholism.
