Q: Acne treatment tips ?

My skin was pretty clear all through high school. I started college last year, and by Christmas, my face had exploded with acne. It's on the sides of my face, my chin and my neck. I wash twice a day, I take an antibiotic and use a prescription cream and a gel. I eat pretty healthily and I drink over a gallon of water a day. The dermatologist said a lot of it is probably stress, but honestly, I'm less stressed here than I was living at home. Is there anything else I can do? Why is this happening to me?

There are a lot of different causes for acne. It sounds like you are doing most everything you need to do to treat it. Everybody is different and what works wonders for someone else, might not help you at all. You might want to talk to your doctor (not you dermatologist) about weather or not it could be hormone related. Some women see a lot of changes (sometimes good sometimes bad) from taking a birth control pill. Also if you use makeup, try switching brands and wash your face and hands well before applying makeup. And for god's sake don't pick them!!!

Hi, I sympathise with you - been there. I have found something which is really working for my but I do not know why. Prebio 7 tablets that you can get from boots, they are nutritional supplements with healthy bacteria. I had tried everything and a sales assistant at Holland & Barrett suggested i try these because the antibiotics i had been taking destroy good as well as bad bacteria. I take two a day and noticed a huge difference in 2-3 weeks. I don't know why they work but there's no harm in try them. Good luck, i really hope they work for you too. x

What kind of shampoo/conditioner are you using? Also, do you have digestive problems?
