Hi,

Im 24, and i have had acne since i was 21,nothing shifted it for a while, when i was 22, my gp put me on diannette and within 3 months my skin was perfect, i was stupid and took myself off it 6 months later thinking i was cured, and my skin got bad again, then my gp put me on it again, and then it got better again!! for whatever reason i took myself off it again (really silly i know) and then it got worse again, i then was put back on dianette in september last year, but i was upset to find my skin didnt get better again so i was put on minocyclin in january, and my skin is fantastic again.

if it hadnt worked i was going to go in roaccutane, but since its so good, i dont want to-however, my dermatologist yesterday told me my blood pressure is too high and i cant stay on diannette, which is just so upsetting because i know without it my skin will get bad. even if i wanted to go on roaccutane, i prob couldnt because i would need to be on a pill too, so i was told unless they could prescribe me a low estrogen one that didnt interfere with blood pressure-

i was wondering has any one been in a similar situation and could they recommend any other meds that are effective that dont need the pill?

Thanks,

Shadyladee
