Hi,

My boyfriend has really bad acne problems. He has acne all over is back and his face. He's been to the doctors many of times and been given many different treatments but nothing has worked. I wanted to know if there's any home remedies that he could use, or anything he could buy from boots or a chemist?

I know theres many different treatments, but we don't want to waste so much money on stuff that doesn't work.

Thanks.

Your boyfriend is suffering from Acne Vulgaris. My son was suffering from same.

Please dont shave until the acne is totally cured.
Avoid Oily/Junk Food
ApplyOil Free moisturiser
Apricot Face Scrub once a week.

Please let me know if it works. I will suggest some medicines too!

Hmm...Boys experience acne usually much worse than women do because of their androgenic activity. Firstly, don't use apricot face scrub, it is the WORST stuff for your face, it's horrible, I can't stress enough, it makes little cuts on your face that are too small to see, and it will irritate, aggravate, and inflame acne which will make it worse. I'm not sure if this works for males, but there is organic green tea (that I don't know the name of) which is supposed to balance hormones. You can also get regular organic green tea from a whole foods store or an organic food store, don't get green tea with caffeine as it can dry out the skin. Water if very important, make sure he drinks at least 8 glasses of water a day. Also, he should be taking vitamins C & E daily to help reduce inflammation, tell him not to take a multivitamin as some vitamins can aggravate the skin.
