Hey guys,

I've had acne for a few years now. I've seen worse but I've got alot of acne spots (which is visible) on both cheeks of my face. My acne deffinately affects my self-esteem and my will to go out and meet new people. I'm seeing a dermatologist in 2 months (as I'm going overseas in a month). I've tried a few Nivia for men face wash products but they don't do much for me. Can anybody suggest a product that clears acne and/or acne spots? (That you don't need a prescription for and can buy in the supermarket)?

Thanks

Use any blemish-fighting skin care products according to your skin type. Or use natural home remedies:

1. Tomato and Yoghurt mask - mash tomato and mix with yoghurt. Apply the mask to your face and leave it for 15-20mins and wash with cold water. Do this daily if possible. Effect will be visible in max 4 weeks or less.

2. Lemon is a great bleaching agent too! But not for sensitive skin. Moisten a cotton with lemon juice a apply directly to the skin leave for 10-15 mins and wash with water and apply cleanser afterwards.

3. Aloe vera! Apply aloe vera gel directly on the face leave for 15-20mins. Do it regularly.

These are the remedies I am doing and I am now recovering from my Acne spots. Hope it will help you too.

And hey! eat a healthy diet too! Those things I mention will not take effect if you have a bad eating diet.

Try eating a lot of fruits to detoxify your system, hydrate yourself by drinking plenty of water daily even if you're not thirsty. Take 500mg Vitamin C and a 400 IU vitamin E daily. Eat fruits and veggies with lots of anti-oxidants. Example: dark red colored fruts have plenty of anti-oxidants. Such as violet grapes, red grapes, red apple etc...

Ditch Nivia and get a real cleanser. Drug store cleansers are horrible, I won't stress it enough, there's a reason why they are on the shelf where everyone can get to them. Aloe vera, like HotAsian09 said, is very beneficial to acne scars, while it won't help acne in itself, if you put it on your scars before you go to bed it should help. It has to be 100% aloe vera gel though, if you live in the states you can get it at any convenient store for about 4 bucks. You should be taking vitamins C & E as they help reduce inflammation, and of course drink water.

Also, do you have any allergies or sinuses? And is it on the upper cheeks, lower cheeks, or all over?

Hi Maria V,

Thanks for the reply. I agree with you also. I have a question about the location of the pimples and acne, does it has something to do with anything? What does it mean if pimples and acne grow on the lower part of the face?

Most people don't know this, but the face is kind of like the body. For example, look at the nose, the nose is kind of like the heart in that, if you have heart problems it can show up on your nose. If you've ever seen older men with red, blotchy marks on the tip of their nose, they usually have had heart problems. That's the chinese way of looking at skin. The chinese face mapping consists of the human body and its parts, it's very interesting.

However, certain things can bring up acne, for example, if you've had too much alcohol, maybe were eating really badly the night before (had pizza, french fries, milk shake) it will show up in that little triangle of skin between the eyes (called the over-indulger), maybe not always in acne, but other things like puffiness, redness. If you have gum or tooth problems it can show up on the lower parts of the cheeks, upper is usually due to allergies or sinuses.

is your skin oily? if its oily use an oil free moisurizer and a cleaser that contains salistic acid usualy dries it out well. if you have dry skin use an exfoliating scrub a few times a week but not every day or it can spred bacteria.

drink lots of water
eat healthy
wash your face 1-2 times a day

DO NOT USE PROACTIVE! it dosent fix the problem it just bleaches it, and bleaches: hair, towels, pillows and blankets its not worth having pay extra cost for replacing everything it ruins. ALSO it has benzol proxide whic IS LINKED TO CANCER!

also areas of face with pinples are for diffrent reasons:
forred- sweat & dehydration
cheeks- smoking & mucous or sinus
jaw & under chin- stress
SO fixing those problems should fix your skin

Don't use proactive, it's one of the worst acne treatments out there.
