Q: ACL recovery ?

Hey all,
Some background: I had my rt acl reconstructed with a cadaver graft 1 year ago, (there was some meniscal involvement as well that was debrided). It never really felt right and I'm still not playing sports or running comfortably, though I can bike and walk just fine. I had an MRI done about 2 months ago to see what was going on and there is a nodule of scar tissue 1.4cm by 2.0cm under the fat pad of my patella tendon. I restarted physical therapy two months ago and I'm making decent progress but feel I may be plateauing because I still have pain while running (the pain is anterior and lateral right under my patella). I have an arthroscopy scheduled for Dec 26, 2008 to take out that scar tissue and see if there are any problems with my menisci.
My question(s):
1. how long does it normally take ACL patients to recover to playing sports again?
2. What are the main risks with arthroscopy? one of my main concerns is that if their going to go in with a knife to take out scar tissue won't that scar tissue just re-form?
3. Anyone have a similar experience that they can shed some light?
4. What's the recovery like after an arthroscopy?

Essentially, I'm about 80% back to normal but that last 20% is crucial for me because I love to play sports.

Thanks in advance for all your help.

Ligament failure - ACL
I have same problem i.e. ligament failure. 6 Years before, i had an accident and that time i was unable to walk /Stand...
But now i am able to do normal things except Jumping,swimming .etc..

So,What is the solution for it? Is ACL reconstruction/ surgery needed or can regular exercises cure the issue?

This you would have to see your Orthopedist about...I would doubt that regular exercise could cure it...Good luck...
