BACKGROUND:
*I'm 29 years old
*got my period @ 11 or 12 & it's been VERY regular since the 1st one
lasting about 5 days & get it about every 30 days (28-32)
*ALWAYS had VERY painful periods (could not function for 2 days every month)
*tested for endometrios (however you spell it) - negative
*had my 1st child young - at 16 (perfectly healthy vaginal birth)
*NEVER had a painful period since the birth of my daughter (w/or w/o birth control)
*was on the shot or pill for years
*diagnosed w/herpes, HPV & pre-cancerous cells on my cervix around age 19
*had lazer treatment then & ALL normal paps ever since
*never had symptom of HPV & tested negative for it ever since LEAP
*had a few outbreaks of herpes in first year, but NEVER since then
*had tubal pregnancy rupture at around age 25
*had 2nd tubal pregnancy around 27 & right tube was removed
*husband & me have been trying to conceive
*have been pregnant almost ten times over last few years,
but always miscarry w/in first 9 weeks of pregnancy
*had ultrasound from outside & interior at least twice w/no sign of anything wrong
*had numerous blood tests (thyroid & other basic tests) - all come back completely normal
*my mother had full hystorectomy at about 40

CURIOUS TO KNOW, but NOT MY BIGGEST CONCERN:
As much as my husband would like a baby, I have not really cared to get more testing to find out why I can not seem to carry a baby to term since my daughter who was born almost 13 years ago. We can't afford any testing out of the norm or genetic testing (which I don't know if that's the issue anyways since my 2 tubal pregnancies & 2 of my miscarriages were w/my ex).

MY REAL QUESTION:
A little over a year ago, my periods started to have an order. The best way I could discribe it would be "acidic" almost smells like urine. I have noticed even when I wear a tampon, my underwear seem to get VERY moist (not wet like I urinated, but more like sweat & I actually feel hot - really hot down there - more than normal). Sometimes this smell is worse than others. Sometiems I can barely stand it (even can smell it through my clothes if I bend down or something), but other times I can barely notice it if I put my panties under my nose).

Thinking immediately, my husband cheated on me, I got tested 3 different times within a couple months of each other, but the doctors all told me that wasn't the case. One doctor suggested maybe yeast infection (which I've never had before & there's no discharge or itch) that might just come w/my periods. Another doctor treated me for VB.

I am a VERY clean person. I know my body is sensitive & therefor I never use soaps, fregences or douches. I always a clean with a clean wet wash cloth. This is what I have done for years w/o problem.

MORE RECENTLY:
My daughter has begun her period almost a year ago which was also very regular until the last few months. She is getting her's as often as every other week! I've mentioned this to her doctor & she tested her to make sure she isn't anemic. (negative) I asked if something could be going around as to why this would be happening to both my daughter & I, but she said no, other than the fact that many females living in close quarters can seem to get their periods at/around the same time.

BACK TO ME:
For some months now, I get my period on time, but only bleed for about 3 or 4 days. Then it goes away for a few, but then comes back & I been bleeding for at least another 2 days on average. Not enough to wear anything, but when I wipe there is a good amount of blood. There's no real clots or anything.

I'm just tired of explaining this over & over to the doctors - only to be told nothing's wrong. I was just wondering if there's something I could insist upon being tested for. This smell is what concerns me most & I know this is NOT normal. I hope I don't have to live like this much longer - much less forever. It's embarrassing...

Do you drink water? Do you keep your tampons in for a very long time? because it can become soaked with urine. i asked the water question because when i dont drink water i have a similar problem. if your sure about not having any std's & the doctor doesn't know what's going on. try researching homeopathic remedies for your situation.

thank you for the shot of trying to help... all good suggestions, but i do drink quit a bit of water daily... & i always try & make sure not to leave tampons in for extended periods. it's just odd that this has just started happening w/in the last year.

i hope i can be sure about the std's since i haven't been w/anyone else & had myself checked 3 times a few months back, b/c this is what i was thinking... thinking my husband had strayed, but all 3 came back negative.

i'd try homeopathic remedies, but i'm kind of scared - since i have no idea what i'm dealing with.

my girlfriend had monster cramps where she would miss school. years later she miscarried twice, and after she had her baby her monster cramps went away. she was always sick when she was pregnant.
i know of another women who couldn't conceive, so someone told her about the hysterscopy and laposcopy & they found out what was wrong with her, and she later conceived. that procedure is when a doctor look at your reproductive organs with a camera. have you had that done.
with HPV you can have funny periods.
i m having the same problem with you with the acidic smell. i have in my head i have some kind of infection but my doctor said i m okay. i have d.u.b = dysfunctional uterine bleeding, meaning my period is always on. the doctor took their many tests and said im fine
your daughter could have a hormonal imbalance. i dont know how young she is, and how you feel about birth control to regulate her period, or just hope that it will get back to normal.
anyway i have multiple health issues and i m forced with having to think about a hysterectomy or a uterine ablation to stop my period. i m 32 & my son is 13. i m getting tired of the doctors poking & prying to find out whats wrong with me.

Thank you ServiceU
well... thank you for your support & maybe a couple more ideas of things to ask the doc to check out.

i think i had the laposcopy (they used a laser to cut away the outter most layer of my cervix i believe) back in 1999. i've had all normal paps since then.

dysfunctional uterine bleeding? hmmm... i will have to look more into that & ask the doc to also.

& yes, i have had ultra sounds from the stomach (outside) & done from the inside multiple times. each time, all the doctors said everything looked normal. only one of the doctors said my uterus was very slightly tipped, but had seen many worse w/o any problems.

even when i had my right tube removed w/my 2nd tubal, the doctors said everything looked fine - including my left tube (as much as they could see from the outside of the actual tube).

the most recent doctor to examine me, seemed to think i had a blood disorder, b/c he said, "you have no problem getting pregnant. you just can't seem to hold the pregnancy beyond 2 months."

but my biggest concern is the order... i have another doctor's appointment this wednesday & just wanted to insist on being tested to find out what is wrong b/c like i said, i really am tired of just dealing w/this and/or explaining this situation over & over again. it's embarrassing. i just cant imagine that this is normal or something anyone should just have to deal with... (yes, i know i should be thankful it's nothing life changing (that i know of)... it could be way worse... but it really is affecting how i feel about myself. i'm constantly taking showers & washing myself down there w/just a wet wash cloth to get rid of the order temporarily.)

as for my daughter, yes, if this continues for her to this extent i plan to check out the birth control option. we did look into this a few months back, although, id rather not, since she is not sexually active & the doc didnt seem to think it was necessary, but then again, she's not the one bleeding every other week either.

thanks again for all your help & your time...

anyone else have any other suggestiong??? they would all be greatly appreciated.
