Q: acid reflux and alcohol

can anyone tell me which drinks are safe to have if i suffer reflux?im asking because when i go to weddings etc i dont want to get ill from drinking the wrong drink. i dont drink a lot havent had drink since lastyear before i was diagnosed with hiatus hernia and acid. thankyou

Although, alcohol doesn't increase the risk of developing acid reflux for the first time, its consumption in people already diagnosed with this disease, alcohol makes reflux symptoms worse.
If you want to have occasional drinks, mix and dilute them with water or club soda.
Suggested amounts are 1-2 mixed drinks.
Always choose white instead red wine, and , if you have chances choose non-alcoholic beer or wine.
You'll find by yourself which drinks aggravate your heartburn most.

i agree..do not drink strong drinks it will only make it worse..take it slow and drink mixed drinks that aren't as strong if you have bad acid reflux....
