I've been sick for about two months with flu like symptoms (aching, soar throat, sinus draining, horrible coughing that produces phlegm, pressure in the ears), today I noticed I have these white areas on my tongue. I am sore and tired and just can't seem to get better no matter what over the counter medicine I take. I'm just really worried about my tongue, as I've never had this symptom before. I don't have medical insurance otherwise I would go to my doctor, and the free clinic can't get me in for a month or so. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hello and welcome to e health forum.

The description of your symptoms, point to a possibility of upper respiratory tract infection associated with sinusitis and or pharyngitis.

Since the symptoms have been persistent for a long duration, you may need proper treatment with antibiotics and supportive medications to help relieve your symptoms.

For the mean time, taking OTC medications like Advil or Motrin might be very helpful to reduce the pain and inflammation associated with your symptoms.

You might seek your doctors advice for a prescription of appropriate antibiotics.
