Hello,
I am a 17 year old male, and as a result
of cystic acne, which was both painful and
unpleasant to the eye, I began to see a
dermatologist about 2 months ago. He
basically told me I would have to take
Accutane to get rid of it, and strongly
urged that I proceeded as such. The doctor
has been prescribing it for about 25 years
and has apparently seen very few serious
conditions pop up in that time. So I went
along with it and have been taking it for
two months and I mean wow, what a
difference - absolute night and day even
in such a short period of time. While I
have experienced very mild side effects
thus far (moderately dry skin, possibly
some back pain linked to it) and am
reviewed every month on status, I'm
beginning to have some second thoughts as
to whether it's truly worth it to continue
for 4 more months, especially after
reading some of the stories out on the
web. Any feedback is welcome, just very
much on the borderline as far as what to
do. Thanks.
