What does ir mean to have redness and discharge near the cervix. I tried to have a pap smear but have a very anterior cervix which made it very difficult to do it properly

Hello,

Welcome to ehealthforum

Redness and discharge near the cervix can be due to various reasons as Cervicitis,infection,allergy,dysplasia etc.It depends on other associated symptoms if present as discharge,pain,burning etc.
Pap smear is necessary in this case as it would help in ruling out the cause.If pap smear could not be done consider getting a pelvic examination and Colposcopy by a Gynaecologist which would help in diagnosis.
