Hi all,

My cousin, female aged 38, has had an operation removing colon rectal polyps about one year ago. Now her situation is quite stable. Last month she went for Colonoscopy and blood test with no negative result.

I'm in anticipation to learn something about diet. She has been informed that eating poultry, chicken in particular, should be avoided. I have made some searching on Internet and couldn't discover any medical document in support of her saying.

Could any folk on the forum sharing me some experience? TIA

I've heard red meat, but not poultry. No data to support = don't stress about it.

Thanks for your response.

My cousin heard from friends around her that poultry, particularly chicken, are feed/injected with growth hormone(Synthetic hormone). However according to my knowledge and search all animals/poultry are feeded with growth hormone. I'm not aware how to remove it from their meat. Synthetic hormone is NOT good to our health. Up to now, I haven't discovered any medical report/article saying it is dangerous particularly to colonrectal polyps.

That makes sense then, not poultry specifically, but really any animal products raised on GH and antiobiotics, and poor diets should be avoided. Thanks for reminding of that.
