I had an abortion about 3 weeks ago and just today I started to have some discomfort around my vagina. The inner lips near the opening of my vagina are red and irritated. I'm not sure what this means or what I should do. HELP :(

Hi,
Welcome to ehealthforum,
The symptoms could be suggestive of vaginal inflammation or infection. It is difficult to comment on the exact cause without examining you. Consider visiting your gynecologist/obstetrician at the earliest for further evaluation and assistance. Treatment as appropriate would be started to help you (based on examination findings and investigation results). Take adequate rest. Drink plenty of water. Maintain healthy diet. Be in regular monitoring and follow-up with your treating doctor/gynecologist and report any unusual/new symptoms immediately. If infective cause is detected, get your partner also treated simultaneously to prevent re-infection. Avoid vaginal douching, use of harsh soap or perfumes in the area. Use loose cotton undergarments and avoid tight fitting clothes.
Take care.
