I have had a surgical abortion, and did not chose sedation. The entire procedure took about 15 minutes, with the actual abortion taking about 2 minutes. It hurt, but was very quick. I was 5 weeks and 6 days. I was scared also, but everything went fine. Afterward, I had barely any bleeding and very light cramping. The cramping stopped after the first few hours, and I bled lightly for about 6 days. I got my next period 6 weeks later.

At 6 weeks, the embryo is about 5mm (VERY small) and not developed all that much. I hope that everything works out for you!

Surgical abortion is better if you have sedation to knock you out! It is painless...

A fetus is not very developed at 6 weeks.. PAIN cannot be felt until the earliest of 22 weeks..

This is information that is available online...
