Hey, I'm 21 years old, no children and I'm not currently sexually active. I've just entered my 3rd week of a continuous period. It's kinda worrying, as I seem to be passing large clots (I know it's ass different kinds of vile), and it's a really heavy flow.

Has anyone else suffered from this kinda problem (or something similar)? If so, was it anything I should be worrying about? I've looked on the NHS direct, and they've kinda said it'll sort its self out eventually, but if you've had this problem before, I think you'd agree you'd rather not wait and see what happens.

I'd be grateful for any kind of reply (even if it is to tell me to get my arse to a Doctor) =)

xx

Hello,

Welcome to ehealthforum

Heavy prolonged periods are indicative of any underlying uterine or ovarian disorder as Fibroids,PID,Endometritis etc.It seems you are having some hormonal imbalance.Such heavy periods can cause anemia and fatigue due to severe blood loss.
Consider visiting a Gynaecologist for examination and investigations as Hormonal Analysis and USG scan to rule out exact cause and if required medications for controlling the bleeding.

Take Care!
