Hi all,
I'm not sure if anyone out there has had a similar situation, but I could use some help right now. Recently I had a pap smear that came back abnormal. I then had a colposcopy. My pap results said I had "Mild dysplasia" so I wasn't too concerned. Then, during the colposcopy, my doctor said that my cells actually looked worse, and that I probably had "moderate to severe dysplasia" and that I would most likely need the leep procedure, but we would confirm this after results of the biopsy. Then, today I get a call from the doctor's office saying that my biopsy came back NORMAL!!!! After a week of tears and being upset, this was a relief. BUT at the same time, I want to know: How does my doctor see severely abnormal cells, yet the biopsy comes back normal?? I just want to make sure that everything really is okay, and that nothing worsens because I got a false "normal" biopsy result. Anyone know about this??
