those labs could be due to anemia. anemia is not the disease itself, but a manifestation of another underlying cause. anemia itself is low red blood cells (RBCs). This can be caused by several things, such as low iron (you dont get enough in your diet OR your body does not absorb enough iron) b12 or folic acid deficiency (both crucial in development of RBCs), etc. Also kidney disease can even cause anemia as a side effect, since kidneys release erythropoetin when receptors on the kidney sense low oxygen levels (since RBCs carry oxygen on hemoglobin). with kidney disease... if erythropoetin is not being released, then new RBCs are not forming... can lead to anemia. i hope this is helpful. there are many many other causes of anemia, i just thought, especially with the low H&H and low iron, that this could be due to anemia. internal bleeding is another thing that causes low h&h... anyways jsut some thoughts.
