New User, Becoming EHEALTHy
I am posting this in concern of my friend. She is married, and of course sexually active with her husband. She was on the Nuvaring until about two weeks ago when her prescription ran out, and had an appointment to go in for her exam to have another prescription. Since this period ended, she has been having abnormal discharge...It sounds discusting but she compared it to the color of apple butter.

She did a search on the internet, and the internet said she could be pregnant, but then again it also said she could have cervical cancer...That is why she is concerned. She wants kids, so if she was pregnant it wouldn't be a huge "Un Oh!" to her...She took a pregnancy test this evening, and it was negative. Although, one of our other friends used the same test, and the test didn't read positive until the following day when her boyfriend dug it from the trash...I can't imagin my boyfriend knowing I was pregnant before I knew I was pregnant!!!

Anyways, I wanted to know what everyone else thought it could be. I posted this on Vaginal Health section, only it's wrote different...I wonder if it is a birth control issue just by chance, but she has been on this birthcontrol for two years at least...

Yellowish thick discharge is normally a sign of an infection such as a yeast infection or something similar.

This could also be a side effect of getting off of the birth control as well. She should take a pregnancy test when her next period is due. A note: That period could be late, in fact there's a high probability it will be, just because she's quit birth control.
