Hi.
I was 5 days late with my period this month and when I finally got it, it only lasted a day. It didn't bleed anymore than usual but I do bleed heavily, though regularly for at least 3 or 4 days. Recently I've been having low abdominal sharp pains and pulls and am spotting with a reddish brown color. I'm concerned, and don't know what to make of it.

Hi,
Welcome to ehealthforum,
The symptoms that you describe (delayed and lighter and shorter periods, abdominal discomfort, spotting) could be few of early symptoms suggestive of pregnancy. Wait and watch for your periods. Look out for development of any other new symptoms if pregnancy is suspected. If you have got abnormal periods, or if you suspect chances of pregnancy, consider visiting your doctor/gynecologist at the earliest for thorough examination (to confirm pregnancy related changes/signs in body) and blood/serum HCG level test (to confirm/rule out pregnancy accurately). Be in regular monitoring and follow-up with your treating doctor/gynecologist and report any new/abnormal symptoms immediately. Drink plenty of water. Take adequate rest. Maintain healthy diet and lifestyle.
Take care.
