Able to have children ?

my partner of 6 months has just found out that they have chlamydia, i have been tete but still awating my results. i discharch alot, however i was unaware that thiss was one of the symptoms of the inection. my main concern is that i become sterile if i do have the infecton. i havent felt any lower abdomin pain but is theere still a chance that i might not be able to have children due to me perhaps havin this std?
