about a month ago I started getting upper right pain in my abdomin when I swallowed. after two weeks I went to the doctors and prescribed protonix because I was having a little acid that day. since then I have acid everyday that is relieved with over the counter stuff. they are not real sure whats wrong and I will be scoped soon. The pain gets better for a day or so then goes back to hurting.

Have you had your scope yet? What did they find? I think you were very smart to see the doctor. I did find a link that talks about pain with swallowing. Maybe it will be helpful for you: pain when swallowing

I hope you have found some answers.

They found nothing wrong. I stopped taking the medicine and some of the acid went away, but I still have the pain less when swallowing but twinges under that rib?. I go back to the doctors in a few weeks. Getting frustrated and think the meds were the cause of some of the acid!
