Abdominal Pain Answer A4462
Diagnosis that has been suggested: Laporoscopy and Pain killers
Current medical status: Was diagnosed with PCOS in spring of 07 due to extreme abdo pain, acne, mild facial hair and extra weight around my waist, after ultarsound confirmation i was given metformin to help but i reacted badly to it. I was still suffering with extreme pain so I was given Mefanimic acid. Unfortunatly the pain has persisted and i was recently admitted to hospital for diffreent matters but they thought it might be connected. I was then told by one doctor that with PCOS I should not be getting pain, so I am now awaiting a Laporoscopy. I was cleared of STI's and PID.
Current medical treatment: Mefanimic Acid - take two 250mg three times a day.

Abdominal pain is not a typical symptom of PCOS. PCOS is typically manifested with irregular cycles, being overweight, hair growth, etc. Abdominal pain is more typical for endometriosis and PID. Endometriosis can be proven only with laparoscopy and a biopsy.
