Q: abdominal hernia?

My husbands belly button is inflamed (as well as below is belly button) and it looks like he has a lump in the middle. It is also very painful to the touch. Could this be an abdominal hernia?

Yes it could very well be a hernia. He should be seen by his primary doctor, if he feels it's a hernia he will send him to a surgeon.

If it is in fact a hernia please research the hernia meshes and the complications from them.
There is a sticky on the top of this forum with some links about herina mesh complications.
