i have been sick for almost a month. it started with some discomfort in my upper left abdomon. the next day it transitioned to pain in my lower left back while still in my abdomen. could only sleep on my back and woke up in pain. i went to emergency the following day and they did a catscan.

results - nothing. i was went home on pain meds. still woke up every for hours in pain.

still in pain, no appetite, bloated went to the dr a couple of days later. he gave me nexium. it did not work - was admitted to the hospital the next day.

iv and antibiotics - another catscan - no results and an ultrasound - no results. in hospital bed the pain went away walked the halls no pain. went home the next day because the pain went away.

took same antibiotics and protonix - pain came back and also discomfort in lower left side...

went back to emergency again - another catscan blood test for pancreas ok - no results...

called the dr he said i was fine, called the gyno told them i was still in pain. they had another radiologist read the first catscan and the results changed... Confused

"small amount of free fluid in the pelvis with suggestion of bowel wall thickening involving small bowel loops in the pelvis, questioning inflammatory bowel disease"

went to colo rectal dr - had a coloscopy and endoscopy yesterday. two benign polyps removed and mild inflammation of the duodenum...

he said that he doubted that either caused my pain...

day after procedure - still some discomfort in the left side possibly from the procedure, still bloated, discomfort in the lower left side and still no appetite.

considering cam pill. any help will be appreciated. Sad

Do you find the pain worse when you lie down and better if you sit or lean forward?
Is it a dull pain that is worse after meals?
Have you lost weight unintentionally?
Do you feel fatigue?
Have you noticed some yellowing of your skin and the whites of your eyes?

thanks
thank you so much for responding as i am still ill...

my pain has changed again... i am bloated most of the day - when the bloating starts, i have discomfort/pain in my upper abdomen under my rib cage.

i can hardly breath, if i lay back on my side - elevated some of the gas is released - i am however still bloated and cannot feel my bladder when it is full - i just ge a pain in my upper left or right side - then its time to go.

yes ia am fatigued

no i have not tried to lose the weight but i have lost 11 lbs since i have been sick

no yellowing of the skin or eyes

my dr sent me to the lab to be tested for lupus and sogerner syndrome. he also put me on antiobiotics and prednizolone. i hope this helps... he is still making arraingements for the camera pill to view the small intestine.

i went to an opthomologist today and was diagnosed with dry eye and glaucoma in one eye... i have an appt with a rheumatolotist next week.

You are welcome!
It sounds to me as you have problems with your pancreas.
This could be a case of pancreatitis or pancreatic cancer associated with pancreatitis (it is very difficult to diagnose pancreatic cancer as the pancreas is so deep within the body and symptoms vary depending on the exact location of the tumour in the pancreas and which cells or function of the pancreas is affected by the tumour or cancer).
Do you have some of these symptoms: lethargy, thirst, blurred vision, increased volumes of urine and drowsiness?
Have you been checked for gallstones?

Have you been tested for your pancreatic functions?

Autoimmune pancreatitis is associated with autoimmune disorders, like Sjogren's syndrome.

Have you been prescribed some drugs, like corticosteroids?
Do you usually get periods of symptoms alternating with periods of remission?

Those are symptoms of diabetes (weight loss, lethargy, thirst, blurred vision, increased volumes of urine and drowsiness) that can result as complication of pancreatitis.

This will be my last post to you, as you want to continue posting this on other forum.
Anyway, I just want to add the following, cause I think you'll find it helpful.

Autoimmune pancreatitis is considered a benign disorder because patients typically respond favorably to treatment with corticosteroids.
Signs of autoimmune pancreatitis include elevated levels of gamma globulins and marked elevations of alkaline phosphatase with only slight elevations of transaminase enzymes, elevated serum IgG4 levels, and autoantibodies directed against carbonic anhydrase and lactoferrin (this is more medical, but, it can help you to compare it with your pancreatic functional tests).
The blood sugar may also be elevated and the stools may have increased fat content.
Common symptoms include jaundice, weight loss, and mild abdominal pain.

Have a good, healthy day!

need to know whats wrong with me?
I am 30 years old and have 3 kids. I have always had health problems. I had a full hysterotomy when i was 24. They found a infection on all but one ovary. Well ever since then my stomach has been very tender, sometimes I double over in pain and the weirdest thing is my belly button has turned colors from a dark purple to almost black on the inside with a bad odor. I also get the bad head aches and don't feel like eating-- kinda nausaed. Please if you know what it is let me know. I have already went to the doctor and had a ultra sound but they say its nothing. They also done blood work and said my potassum was low and that made no sense. My stomach is also swollen and I look pregant but I can't be. I can't have any more kids, not even a period because of them taking everything out. Please help?
