Dear Dr. I went to the E.R. because i have been having pain in my neck. They told me that i have a mass in my neck, sent me home and told me to make an ultrasound appointment. Now that i think more about it, i have been getting lumps in my underarms, and private areas, and under my chin also for some time now, but they always go away. but now i'm worried.. could you plz tell me what could be wrong, is it cancer??

Hello and welcome to e health forum. ‎

It is difficult to analyse a skin condition without a complete medical history and a visual ‎‎‎examination of ‎‎the lesion.

Lumps seen in the body can be due to causes including - common benign conditions as well as severe ‎‎‎conditions like €Žcancer and chronic diseases.

But symptoms like persistent fever, weight loss, night ‎‎sweats along with multiple enlarged, painless lymph ‎‎nodes may indicate conditions like lymphoma or ‎‎cancer‎. ‎

In your case, the lump in your neck could be a enlarged thyroid gland, a lymph node or a thyroglossal cyst. A ultrasound will definitely help in providing more infomation, as to the cause of the lump.

Hence you may continue to work with your doctors for a proper diagnosis and treatment.
