Willpower

April 18th, 2012 by RabbiMitch63
"When you see a thing clearly in your mind, your creative "success mechanism" within you takes over and does the job much better than you could do it by conscious effort or "willpower"
- Maxwell Maltz - Surgeon and Founder of Psycho-Cybernetics

Willpower is a word that we frequently use with negative meanings, values and interpretations, when in fact; it is an amazingly positive word.

Think of the "will" "power" that you possess to accomplish something. Right now, it is your willpower that has you reading each word in this message. Forget the lack of willpower you have over a brownie, ice cream, a purse or new car and begin to zero in on the amount of willpower you have to accomplish whatever it is that you are seeking. There is nothing you cannot do if you take your willpower and put it to use in your life.

As a Rabbi, Spiritual Counselor and Sober Coach to people with addictions seeking recovery as well as people seeking clarity and happiness, I know from my own experience that in my case, my will power was what brought me to me knees, broken and hopeless and my will power today is my faith in a Higher Power/God (whatever that means).

My courage, faith, hope and willingness to do, grow, create, forgive, complete, risk, fail and succeed derive from this higher source of energy that I have faith in today.

The greater your acceptance of your willpower, the greater your success will be and the greater your feelings of self worth will be and the greater you will feel about you. Everything will be greater when you commence seeing that your willpower is inside you waiting to burst out with joy and fulfillment.

Stop keeping it hidden from yourself and let the rest of us enjoy it with you. Your willpower will give rise to another's and another's and before you know it, everyone that you know will be living their lives with their joyful willpower. That will be a WOW moment.

My prayer for you today is that you find your willpower, give life to it and make it work in your life with faith, hope and endless joy.
