It occurred to me growing up as one of few physical disabilities in the mainstream school that few get what that like to have a visible physical disability. But, then again I dont know what its like to have the ability to walk free of support or assistive devices.
It always seemed odd to me to have disability simulation days where people would put on goggles to simulate the life of someone with visual impairment or spend a day in a wheelchair. This also seemed and truthfully still does seem odd but I understand the idea behind it. I think it seems weird because the chair is all I have ever known and why would you want to simulate that? It baffles me yet I get the concept behind it
