March 29th, 2012 by eHealthGuide

An exercise bike is a way to stay fit and enjoy the feeling of riding a bike from the comfort of your home. It's a great choice for when the weather is cold or if you don't have a good location in which to ride. Read on for some tips on how to choose the right exercise bike for you.

1. Look for Comfort

Test out any exercise bike that you're considering buying to be sure that you will get a comfortable ride out of it. It's important to be sure that the seat is comfortable and that it can be adjusted to meet your height requirements.

2. Check for Proper Resistance

People enjoy using an exercise bike in different ways. For some, higher resistance is a better way to work out, while others may find that they enjoy lower resistance settings. Make sure that any bike you're thinking of is fully adjustable, so that the resistance settings are appropriate for you.

3. Ability to Track Progress

If you're interested in tracking your progress and fitness while you work out, make sure your bike has a heart rate monitor or a progress guide. This will let you know how long you've been going and at what difficulty level.
