Daily Bite: 4 Outdoor Activities You Can Do with Your Family

The four seasons of the year offer so many choices for outdoor activities you can do with your family, depending upon where you live. Most outdoor activities can be enjoyed in a different way each season. Here are four options you can do with your family:

1. Take a Walk

Explore the city, the woods or the neighborhood by walking or hiking around. Listen to your surroundings. Peek under things. Smell the aromas. Feel the texture of everything. Step it up and turn it into a hike. Make your way up a hill, around a pond or along a bike trail.

2. Pick Some Fruit

Summer strawberries, raspberries or blueberries and fall apples or pumpkins make it fun to pick your own. Berries make a great shortcake dessert. Apple pie is a delicious orchard treat. The best jack-o-lantern is a pumpkin patch bonus.

3. Celestial Bodies

Star gazing is a year-round outdoor activity. Learn the monthly full Moon names. January boasts the Wolf Moon while June displays the Strawberry Moon. Look for specific constellations and watch for shooting stars.

4. Plant a Garden

It doesn't have to be a full crop; a few favorite flowers, herbs or vegetables are sufficient. Till the soil, plant the seeds, keep it weeded and watered, and watch it grow together. Then you can reap the benefits when it's time to harvest.
